Cousin

I just overheard from my dad that my cousin is considering a huge decision in his life. He wants to come to America to further his education in engineering. I am not totally surprised because he is at one of the top universities in America. He has already applies to several graduate programs and will go on the condition of a full scholarship because he has no apure of income. I actually kind of want him to come because I can have a relative I can talk to.


Just because he is coming dd not hide much of his abilities. Many of us, especially those of us who have immigrant parents, probably don't fully understand the amount of work that is required to get here. He has and had to work so hard both in chinese and english. Not the idea thing. Just imagine that you have to work I. Spanish and english. It's that difficult.

Anyways, he plan to come soon enough and study. I wish him luck in finding a good college.

Riots Update

Now as the Libyans continue to riot, I have to see that the fall of communism in 1989 is like the Arab Revolutions recently, especially the Romanian revolution. What happened? Like the Romanians who  kicked out their president Nicolae Ceaușescu in a bloody revolution, the Libyan rebels, with the support of the tribes, are fighting against the government of Gadaffi.  I don't see why the Libyan president Gaddafi has not resigned yet. Perhaps he need to resign so he can flee somewhere to retire. Where is the end?

March and Time

Oh man its already March. Time flew for me. To me, March 1st and March 2nd seemed like extra days of February and so I treated them like it. Now that I have fully realized that I could take some time to make sure that I write more on this blog.

Now that I look more into the future, I have a nice 4 months of high school left. It seems that the final day got pushed back to a freaky Monday. Should I attend just because graduation is on that day or I should send in a look alike?

Anyways, I feel like 9th grade was like yesterday and 8th grade was a lost dream that is coming back to me. How I have not treasured this time greatly. No more waste for me anyways. Oh well. I got a long life ahead of me and appreciate.

Riots

Considering all the riots going one in the Middle East, we all should consider what is the root. It all started when Islam was introduced by Mohammed in the 7^th century. The following generations interpreted that the rulers should be entrusted to the point of no question. Not only that, they believe that any question of authority was sacrilege and means offense to Allah. Furthermore, the caliphs, Muslim rulers, tried to implement their ideals in the name of the Korean and Allah, something that has been taken up by the people. Ever since, few have dared to rise up.

I personally question the radical questioning of the Quran as power-hungry. I mean if the Quran is to ask the people to follow the leader and throw your support behind it, why would people add much more harsher twists to it? The book also requires that the leader acts so that it would benefit the people and for the glory of Allah. Does it strike a bell in your mind? This implies that people have to support a leader no matter what he or she acts. This is a bit ridiculous. Should they be advised so that when something ugly comes up, fatwas, or religious edicts, are carried out. I say, the people should have confidence in themselves and have proven themselves in recent events.

The riots are undoubtedly started with the suicide of a vegetable vendor in Tunisia. This seemed to me to be a potential place to start it. After the massive protests that overthrew the government, I thought it would spread and it happened to be Egypt. Contrary to my belief, Egypt did overthrow their leader Hosni Mubarak. Libyan leader Moamar Goddhafi was the 2^nd guy I thought would be kicked out. Now the world is watching Libya. The Libyan Arab Republic is on its knees as the people are in a state of open revolt like the Confederates during the Civil War. The rebels against Gaddhafi are adamant against his corruption and length of stay in power. Like many people in the Middle East, they want more power and less fear from the secret police and more accountability form their elected officials. Now, the central government is in control of a few cities, especially the capital Tripoli and a few isolated towns. Since he devoted his power to continue fighting and even hire mercenaries to fight the opposition, sanctions have gone up against him. I see that Gaddhafi will not be welcomed into any other country in asylum. In contrast to Mubarak, he lacks the charm or dignity to even get a bit of support in a foreign country, much less protection. Perhaps the best course of action is just to give up peacefully and retire or just commit suicide to end the pain. This will start something new.

Cruise

Well, its the first day of the new year and I feel that the old is still here. Last night's celebration was loud but interesting. For the week starting in December 25^th 2010 to today, I took a cruise with my parents. We planned it two friends from Canada and their families but I had my reservations. Overall, it was good. On the other hand, it is boring because I did not find much to do. Well, I did go bowling, but I suck greatly at it.

One of the things that I will not forget are the doormen to the cafeteria who said “Washy Washy.” He should be the posterboys of the ship.

Anyways, the cruise was fun and I made a few friends on the ship. What is surprising is that one graduated from EBHS in 2006 and two others went to my church. I still talk to them and I still want to continue it. When this cruise ended, I got their email to communicate. I wish them a good year.

Christmas Break

Well, its two days from Christmas Break and I still have another day of school tomorrow. ughhhhhhhhh. What I doing? I have a math test and its break for some of my friends.

Anyways, its that time of year of festivities and events that happen in the Zhu family. Yes, my dad's last name is Zhu. My mom added her last name to create a last name I don't exactly don't want. That is beside the point. It is a long year and filled with a bunch of things that are worth mentioning and no so commendable. I thought back to this year and evidently, I have traveled so far. As Rod Stewart put it "It's been a long road, Getting from there to here. It's been a long time, But my time is finally near." It is true. My time a change is near as I realized my attitude did not change much as I transitioned from junior yea to senior year. Even with an acceptance into university, I haven't seen much time to put thought into myself due to pressure from parents to take some time read books and learn a bit more.

What I say is that do enjoy it. Take some time about yourself.

Computer Club

Well, it 10:32 at computer club and I am bored. we students have  to teach adults how to use certain applications of the computer such as excel and microsoft word etc. well, the adults are few and the high school students "the teachers" are numerous. What can I do during these painful two hours?

Well, you can you just think of random items to do while the clock ticks. Its amazing what can you find when you get a bit desperate. i remade the ad and info sheet for the bulletin, readjusted the wiki pages and the lessons enough to make it so interesting that all would not sleep. I also downloaded some files drop.io/spaceart6678 because drop.io got bought by Facebook, something I do not approve of. it sucks because I cannot save items on my favorite site. i will not wallow in a new direction, my long studies.
